Resume Samples
Resumes are a must in today’s job market. If you don’t know how to write a resume there are many resume templates and resume samples to guide you through the process.
With so many people vying for the same job position, if you don’t have a resume you don’t stand a chance. Designing your own resume is not difficult. There are dozens of books available just for the purpose of helping you construct a powerful resume—one that will stand out amongst the hundreds of others. You’ll find lots of sample resumes in these books, too, so you can choose the exact style you want.
Begin with a resume goal. What segment of the job market are you targeting? What are your strong suits? What experience and education do you have? Flaunt these attributes in your resume. And don’t forget to add resume references. These are extremely important. References lend validity to your resume. Choose references wisely. Make certain that if they are contacted they will praise your job skills and be positive, not negative.
Another important aspect of resumes is to include your resume employment history. Without this, any prospective employer will pass you by. Employment histories show that you have worked in the industry before, that you have experience and knowledge of the job at hand. It shows that you won’t need daunting amounts of training if hired, and that your learning curve is not overly steep. Only include employment histories that apply to the job you are attempting to get. Superfluous histories only waste your potential employers time, and reflect poorly on you.
If you’re still uncertain about how to construct an effective unique resume, look over as many resume examples as you can find. Books, trade magazines, and the Internet all provide a profusion of resume examples from which you can learn. Select the best parts of each example, customize it and make it your own. Before you know it you’ll have a professional looking resume that would impress any prospective boss.
